Gays of Our Lives last night was very funny. It was a bit slow in parts, but soap operas are like that. They pulled off the feel of a soap very well, lots of dramatic poses and plenty of fake sex. Dave didn't show up, his bike ride ended up going long or something. It's OK, I really didn't expect him to show up anyway.

One of my two blinds arrived yesterday, but in the wrong color. So now I have to try and retun it. I'm hopeing they let me go to a store to do it instead of trying to mail it back.

Today will be long, since I had a chiropractor appointment (you'd think they'd be covered under our insurance, wouldn't you?) and maybe work at Apex. I need to get to the west side and go shopping for trip things. Maybe go out after. Tomorrow is the Mary Kay convention at the Hilton, which I really don't want to do and will suck lots. Good money though.

Last night Laura asked me to do a toast at the reception dinner in Jamaica, and then two more at both receptions. I probably will have to write 3 then. And get cracking on it soon. Like today.

Friday night was kind of a bust. Drove all the way to Oregon just to find out one of the other players was feeling sick and decided not to go. Fine, but it'd be nice if we didn't have to call him to find out. Chatted, ate dinner, kinda meh.

Saturday was busy, but it was a nice busy. Had the theater meeting. They basically didn't like the poster I'm doing for them. So we played with it until it was very close to my original idea and not the one that the board decided on last time. People seemed unhappy that I am leaving, but I've been working in that committee for five years and am done. I stuck with my guns and have left. I think I'm getting better at saying no.

After the meeting I headed out of town to Mauston for a double birthday for my uncle and cousin. I was a bit late, but a lot of the family was there. Got to see dad. Lots of sledding with the cousins' kids. Left before birthday cake and singing, but I had a schedule to keep.

Got to Club 5 an hour late, but I'm not too worried. It's not my committee, I just do all the work. Registered people until 8:00. Got a little less than 10, saw some team mates, caught up. Bob arrived late also. Him and Brian drove back from Milwaukee. He was quite drunk when he got there and apparently Ben tried to fire him a few times. Hard to fire a volunteer.

8:30 was kareokee at Pedros. Jumped groups saying hi to everyone. MJ made it, B didn't. More info on their respective LJs. Stayed long enoguh to see them both sing one song each. Em and Chee came out, which was nice. Never get to see that girl anymore. Sam showed up too.

Then was off to the Inferno for Victoria's going away party. I didn't know about that one until that morning. Shannon turned into a pumpkin soon after I arrived, so they took off. I hung out and danced with Victoria for a bit until the smoke started giving me a headache.

Sunday was much calmer with finishing the design for grandma and grandpa's headstone, cleaning, bowling and the gym. Bowling went well, two games 20+ pins over my average. We are in second place. Might go up depending on how the frist place team did. Charter went out while I was at the Princton Club. Fortunently I was on the weights rotation and not doing cardio. Cable was out for the rest of the night. I was hoping to hear about why on the news this morning.

This week doesn't look too busy, but that might change. More softball registration tonight. I think if I keep this up someone else can take the fundraising committee. I really didn't expect so much work for this. I'm quite annoyed with other members of this group, you'd think with over 90 members we'd have more help.

This weekend I think I might actually paint the house. I have nothing to do except a softball meeting and bowling (both of which I might skip), so if I do get paint this week, that is the plan.

Last night was OK. Got roped into more Apex work, and I was pissy enough that I kinda snapped at Em over email. She doesn't deserve that. It's not her fault I hate that place so much. I have decided that if they don't let her go on the trip to Jamaica I will never work for them again. Got Laura's wedding invitations done though, and some BSG. I should have gone directly to the extended cut of Pegasus and not watched the original. I did buy the piolet for Fallen on iTunes (being as it was $4). So now I will see how it works to watch shows on the iPod screen. Almost bought Season 2 of Avatar, but didn't want to wait for the download.

Today seemed it would go well until after my shower. Then I had to watch 10 minutes of Anna Nicloe and her death. I'm sorry she died, it's bad when anyone dies young, especially if they have dependents. But I'm sure a lot of people died yesterday. And a lot of them were more important or tragic than she was. So having the top story on the morning news her death, and then have it go for 10 minutes is stupid. Then we finally get to actual news, like the war. And 8 minutes later, back to A.N.S.

Then I get hit with more theater stuff on the poster I'm doing. This will be the last one I do for a while. I'm not enjoying it and need to drop activities. Being too busy makes me a bitch.

I've kinda given up with thinking I'll enjoy this job. But I do not have the energy to look heavily for a new one yet. Hopefully it won't take me 2 years like it did at Apex.

I kind of remember a dream from last night, something to do with being in a musical, I remember singing on stage with other people there. No idea what the musical was about, but I amazed people with my vocal range. This range does not exist in the waking world, mind you. But this is impressive since I never remember dreams.

I played like crap last night. Couldn't pass or hit. Serving was fine, and my setting was OK. We lost all three. The other team was pretty good, so I don't feel horrible about it, but we could have won one or two. Just didn't click.

Tonight is taxes and more theater stuff. Need to get back working on the cash cow that is AFB. Those checks are going to go a long way towards financial plans.

Started [livejournal.com profile] archangelbeth's book. I'm enjoying it a lot. Also started Shadowdance by Robin Wayne Bailey. Very interesting. Greekesk era fantasy with a major gay sub plot. It's on the Big List of Gay Books(tm) that I've been collecting.

I think that I have the comment notifications working now. I switched emails from the one bouncing to my gmail account to the actual gmail account. Emails sent to the bouncing one are fine, I hope. Should talk to Wendy about that.

I'm thinking I might take a break from Stage Q. I want fewer responsibilites, and that is the group I care least about. I'm sad to say that, but it's the bottom of the list. Maybe I'll tell them they can call me if they need help? Course that is the same as I told Apex and the Hilton, and I work there a lot. Probably should just take a break and go back if I miss it. One of the reasons I was in it was to keep in touch with the community, but with softball, euchre, bowling and soon volleyball, I think I know enough people now.

I really like the power that I have with AFB work now. I say no or tell them that I need a week and not a day, and they can't do anything. Apex (or the Project Manager) don't really care, since they are getting rid of AFB. And AFB has seen the crap that comes out of India now and realize they need to go with me or accept shite. I am so in control, Mawhahahaha!

My leg hurts and I have no idea why. Getting old...

I'm still very worried about the lack of roommate. I don't want to make Nate think he has to stay just to make sure I'm OK. But I'm running out of ideas on where to find someone. It's worse than dating. Any of my out of town friends want to move? This winter has been totally mild.

The show I really wanted to see this season for Stage Q, the musical A Kiss for Alexander, has now been canceled due to lack of people. Kinda bumbed. Also, I have to do more publicity for the replacement.

Got a email back from one of the places I applied to for a new job. Insty-prints, so I'm not expecting them to offer me enough to switch though.

This amused me... (from [livejournal.com profile] channonyarrow)

Had an interesting realization today. I'm becoming my dad. This isn't a really bad thing, just a surprise. I always related to mom much more. But I had to be home from 10 to 12 for the furniture to be delivered. First thing this morning I start planning what I'll do during this time. I won't just go home and watch TV for 2 hours and wait. No, I do laundry, vaccum the area where the furniture will go and clean the car (as in vaccum the floors and seats and 409 the dash, doors and other vinal areas). This is so a dad thing. Can't let the time be wasted. But my car is very clean, so yeah.

The furniture is very *squee* worthy. It dosen't quiet fit well in the room, but I think I might try another arrangment. Can't wait to show it off to people, especailly Mom & Grandma and the guests for the baby shower.

Good weekend, very busy. Sunday had to work at the Hilton. I served instead of my normal coffee bitch job. Was OK, hadn't done that in a ong time and forgot a few things, like food and tables. Whatever. Then bowling, which was OK, but I was tired. Then moving furniture with Dave's help. Dinner was pizza over at Dave's, since I didn't have seating anymore. Had a long conversation on anal sex and if girls like it. What else will 4 gay boys talk about?

I did find a major error in the Stage Q brochures that have been printed. We put the wrong year on it. Granted I did put the wrong year on it, but it went though 5 other people, so not totally my fault. And I did catch it. There will be more printings.

The cover story of the Wisconsin State Journal this morning made me smile. This was the cover image. Usually one does not see that much skin on a newspaper.

It was going to be an easy day with getting things done. But a project coordinator forgot to send some thing to India last night, as in just forgot to hit the "send" button. So instead of arriving to a nice delivery from overseas that all I have to do is check, I have to do the 60 some pages of corrections. So much for a light day. But she was covering from someone who's covering for someone else, so it's not all her fault. WIn some, loose some.

I was not able to get up early and work on the Stage Q poster, getting home at 2am dose that to me.

I'm feeling accomplished this morning. Got up at OMG too early (6am, and yes I know some flist people get up earlier than that, but it's still early) and got the brochure for Stage Q done. I was going to do it between Apex and volleyball tonight, but now I have softball practice right after work, so no time there. I still got in on time so no ruffled feathers here. And I like the finished brochure. Now to see if the rest of the committee agrees that it is done. I'll post it here when it's all approved.

Won softball 33 to 9 last night (one inning we went though the line up twice). I was feeling a bit bad for the other team, but this shows promise for the tounament this weekend. Which I think will be lots of fun. Then lost all three at volleyball. We were short a person (and I beleive Kiki is killing him today at work) and just couldn't cover everything. But then we played pick up afterwards with Cody/Steph's team, which is always fun. Then talked with Kiki for a pitcher's worth of time. Haven't really seen or talked to her in ages.

Busy at work now. And I just found out one of the lead Penta people is leaving. Which bodes not well. Though I did mention to teh Boss that if I start to learn more Penta stuff to help fill her place (cause one dose not find Penta typesetters out in the work force anymore--that's the problem with a dead program) maybe [livejournal.com profile] exarian has a better shot at a job.

Busy tonight with softball, volleyball and then Project Runnway. Also it'd be nice to have enough time over lunch to mow half the lawn.

I met up with August today to get pictures for A Kiss for Alexander. He's very easy to work with. Likes to model and has some experience with Photoshop, so he had some idea of what I'd have to deal with. Very hot too. And if I had went to see Circle when Mercury Theater was putting it on, I would have seen all of him, sans clothes. Oh well, maybe he'll be in another nude play. He seems like a nice guy. Which is odd since he's so beautiful (in an OC kinda way) that I didn't expect a real person. I've met some gay guys and actors that are all fluff and annoy me. But he could hold a conversation. Topics stayed pretty much with current schedules and theater, but still it was a nice hour break from work.

He is going to try out for the show, so maybe my poster won't be lying when I put him as the star.

Not sure when I'm going to get around to working on the brochure though, hopefully this week sometime Apex will let me cut out early.
