It's been a good day. We stayed up late last night, watching the last disk of Firefly and then Serenity. Nice to be able to stay up with my boyfriend and watch movies together.

After a yummy breakfast of scrambled eggs, french toast and buffalo bacon and a long walk with JP this morning I headed off to the west side for some shopping (Paul had to work--a pity). I got two pairs of cute shoes as DSW (clearance area), one black and one brown (the brown ones are suede!). Then I swapped out a belt at Express and got some new underwear. I've been a boxers man since high school and getting tired of the white Hanes my mom was buying me. But with the flatter stomach, I wanted to try out some other styles to see if I like any of them. So I picked up a pair of boxer briefs, two pairs of sport trunks, and two pairs of high rise briefs--all in fun colors. So we will see if I like them and if I want to switch.

I tried to find a copy of the 2nd edition Werewolf book at the various used book store. No luck, even though the west side Frugle Muse had a HUGE selection of RPG books. I'll just have to wait until Wendy and Drew get back up here and I can get my copies. Unless I can find a friend to lend me one for a bit.

I had an awesome mushroom quiche and greens at a small local cafe called The Mermaid cafe for lunch. Delicious and served in a wooden trough, very fun. And the chef/server/register boy was kinda cute.

After I got home I put my clothes away, did some yoga, had a shower (it is so humid today, I love it), and then walked JP (who's currently an unmoving lump). Now to relax a bit, watch some Lord of the Rings and wait for Paul to come home and have dinner.

I had a good rejuvenation weekend and I'm ready to start the new job tomorrow.

On another note, I really enjoyed the into info dump on today's episode of the Starter by Scott Sigler. The ecology of the Quith was very cool. He has great ideas for his aliens and monsters.

I've been waking up 8-8:30ish this weekend. Not sleeping tons late, but that's like 3-4 hours later than I have been. It's been nice, but when I see the sun up and shining (omg, the weather has been great this weekend) I almost feel like I've wasted a big part of the day. I'm sure I'll get over that soon. I do have plans to try and do either yoga or start running in the morning though. I think I'll give the new job a week so I can get settled in, then start the following week. I like how thin I look, I'd like to keep this shape after I go back to cubical working.

Some random thoughts from this week's episode of Cowry Catchers, the podcast by [livejournal.com profile] faunus. If you don't listen (and why is that, BTW?), you probably won't understand.

1. When voicing to Gerard list off the things he and Dakar need for survival, it sounded just like Ishmael Wong get ready for some obstacle in one of the Solat Clipper stories. But Nathan Lowell still adds so much more emotion to Gerard that was the first time I was reminded of the other character.

2. Big Ancklvich (form the Dunesteef podacst) did such an awesome job as that Hunti slaver. I was cracking up from the accent and I never thought that hyaena-esk giggle could come from him.

3. I'm wondering if Abbie went to some audio editing class between books, cause she has had nothing but cliffhangers for every episode this book. If I didn't know what was going to happen I'd be just as crazy as everyone else on her forums. She's doing great.

In non-podcast news, I'm hovering just under 160 lbs these days. I don't think I've been this thin since college (before the freshmen 15). The diet/lifestyle change Paul has us on is helping, I'm sure. Plus the fact that I'm still pretty active at the post office. When I do get a new job I have to figure out how to keep off the cubical weight. I wish I had more time for yoga.

Nothing from Quad yet... and the applications keep going out.

It's been a good and productive weekend. After work on Saturday the puppy and I had a nap, then I cleaned most of the house. We had a good long walk in the almost warm weather too. Paul and I went to bed early and got a decent amount of sleep.

While laying in bed Sunday morning, trying to decide if I should get up or not, Jack called me (with Laura's help). He was eating dinner and saw the picture Laura put in this year's Jack calender of him and I eating together. So he decided he needed to call me and tell me he was eating dinner and that he loved me. A much nicer wake up call than I usually get from my alarm clock.

The rest of the day was me cleaning the remainder of the house (I only have one room left to dust and the bathroom sink to clean). The puppy and I also made a trip to Mounds Pet Food Warehouse for some more food for him. Then I did my Davey Wavey yoga video and had a bubble bath.

We need to go grocery shopping when Paul gets home and then while he's doing homework I'll probably learn more Flash.

I'm really hoping Quad Graphics calls me tomorrow and offers me a job. It'd be so nice.

Davey Wavey kicked my ass.

Today I tried out the Underwear Yoga videos from Davey Wavey, a internet based personal trainer / life guru who's blog I follow. There are two videos, both a little over 20 minutes long. And they were hard! Well, the first one was a typical set, which will be good for days when I don't have a lot of time. It is also a good warm-up for the second one. It is more focused on strength training. There are a few poses I can't do yet, but I did get some of the balance ones on this first try. And I'm proud of that. I've had one yoga DVD that I've been using for over four years. It is by Rodney Yi, and I still like it. But I'm used to it, I can do the entire hour long routine without looking at the TV, just listening to the instructions. And I will still use it. But mixing it up with this new set of videos I think will be good. My body feels stretched and loose. I feel good, which is what I remember from when I started yoga.

It's some long poses mixed up with quick, fluid sets, which is different from my other DVD. I like it and look forward to the next time I can do it. I do wish the the instructor (who isn't Davey, it's a friend of his Nick Kindrick) would talk a little more. Because there are some parts where they are just going through the poses and not talking about what they are doing. And if you can't see the screen, and some poses don't let you, one can get behind. After doing it a few times I'll have it memorized and will be able to keep up, I think. And it helps that they are both cute guys in their underwear. It's a good motivator, seeing the body I want to achieve.

There has been one really good thing about the post office job. I've lost a ton of weight! Like 10-15 pounds in the last month. I'm sure it has to be due to 8-12 hours working on my feet and lifting and carrying 70lbs of packages around. I would like new pants soon and am wearing all of my belts on the last hole. I know I will be still working in the next months, but I'm not sure if it will be as much exercise in the new job. We will see. At the least I'll have to start doing crunches again every night and do more yoga.

I took the time to do yoga last night. It felt really good to stretch like that again. I've been a bit sore since we moved volleyball back indoors for the fall/winter season. All the extra impact and speed was taking it's toll. I was worried I'd be really sore today from the yoga, but not so much. Just a little tightness in my neck and shoulders. I'll have to get into the habit of doing that again. I was really impressed with my self on how far down I could get my face on the forward bends. I think it's from the abb work outs I've been doing.

I need to keep it up, for sure.

Wow, I don't post much these days.

I didn't get everything that was due this week done on time. I have another furlough day today and only got the batch that is due today about 70% done. We are sorta busy, so there isn't anyone to finish it up for me. I told my boss and he seemed OK with it. I will probably have to work longer days Monday and Tuesday to hit the printer deadline on Wednesday, and then take short days the rest of the week.

I was productive this morning though. The puppy got me up at 8am, earlier than I'd have like, but not bad. We went for a walk, then I did yoga for an hour. Then I washed the kitchen floor and made it into work at the mall.

We've made plans for Jess, Lari, Paul and I to go north to mom and dad's for Memorial day weekend. We will spend most of our time at the lake, hopefully the weather will be nice, everyone will get along and we will have a good time. At least I don't ask for much.

I really enjoyed the season finally of Supernatural. Good closure I think. I'm happy Cas isn't actually dead, and I did make the same logical leap that Dean did. I know he won't be in next season, but maybe he can stop by every once in a while. I don't know how they can make next season not be 2nd rate compared to the apocalypse. But I will watch it to find out.

I also liked the last episode of Glee with NPH. It totally was more like the first episodes that were so good. I'm happy the Jesse isn't totally evil. I still have hope for him to hook up with Kurt.

Softball and volleyball are going well. My shoulder hurt all the time, I'm hoping I can do more yoga to loosen it up. Apparently our team is "a team to beat" in the softball league. Which is cool to hear. Especially since we are having a good time as well.

I turns out when I exported my contacts from my laptop before I wiped it I only did one of them. So I don't have any data to put on Paul's PC and try and sync to the iphone. I'll have to put them all in by hand. But it will give me a reason to trim down the contacts list.

The calendar file I exported can't be read by the PC either. I might try and run it though a few other programs, then sync it. Else I'll have to start from scratch again after the first sync.

And the best part? I'll have to do this all again if I get a new computer and sync to that. I'm sure the iphone is worth it, really.

Internet is back at work. I took a half day yesterday, mowed the lawn, picked up applications for like 20 hotels (I'm thinking night desk clerk), feed and walked JP and did yoga. It's been too long since I've done that. I'm sore and my shoulder really, really hurts. Like I was playing volleyball for hours and hours and did a lot of serving and hitting. I must have just over stretched that arm.

Not sure what the plans are for Paul's birthday this weekend yet. We keep going back and forth between going out and having people over.

I have got to make time for yoga more often. I did a session last night and this morning I wasn't stiff or sore at all, which is my usual MO. Could help get rid of some of the belly too.

Paul and I treated ourselves to Le Toile last night. It was a rough week. Ended up being a longer dinner than planned. They over cooked Paul's steak the first time. So instead of bringing it out wrong (they noticed the problem in the kitchen), they brought out an extra appitizer and a half pour of wine for us until they could remake both dinners. Sign of a nice place. Food was really good, even the pickled beef tongue.

Today I'm working at 4 Lakes till 10, then going to the mall for a few hours, then coming back here until supper time. Then we are going out for [livejournal.com profile] exairian's birthday down town. Tomorrow is more work and the volleyball season tournament.
