Davey Wavey kicked my ass.
Today I tried out the Underwear Yoga videos from Davey Wavey, a internet based personal trainer / life guru who's blog I follow. There are two videos, both a little over 20 minutes long. And they were hard! Well, the first one was a typical set, which will be good for days when I don't have a lot of time. It is also a good warm-up for the second one. It is more focused on strength training. There are a few poses I can't do yet, but I did get some of the balance ones on this first try. And I'm proud of that. I've had one yoga DVD that I've been using for over four years. It is by Rodney Yi, and I still like it. But I'm used to it, I can do the entire hour long routine without looking at the TV, just listening to the instructions. And I will still use it. But mixing it up with this new set of videos I think will be good. My body feels stretched and loose. I feel good, which is what I remember from when I started yoga.
It's some long poses mixed up with quick, fluid sets, which is different from my other DVD. I like it and look forward to the next time I can do it. I do wish the the instructor (who isn't Davey, it's a friend of his Nick Kindrick) would talk a little more. Because there are some parts where they are just going through the poses and not talking about what they are doing. And if you can't see the screen, and some poses don't let you, one can get behind. After doing it a few times I'll have it memorized and will be able to keep up, I think. And it helps that they are both cute guys in their underwear. It's a good motivator, seeing the body I want to achieve.
