My neck/back is really messed up. It's giving me a splitting headache. Oddly it's the left side this time, normally it's my right shoulder/neck that is in pain, since that is my hitting arm in volleyball. Didn't sleep well last night and then got up early so I could get in overtime before I have to leave by 6.

D&D went well on Wednesday. Combat seemed to go quicker and everyone seemed to know what they were doing. I guess I should say everyone's turns went faster, the combat took a lot longer than it should have. Granted, it was the largest force they had faced to date, but they were all rolling poorly. We are playing again tonight, and I hope they enjoy the next challenge. We should wrap up this dungeon tonight and then can get moving on the next campaign.

Work is very busy. We are way behind, and these pages take forever to do. I think I got 15 pages done in 9 hours yesterday. The main snag is we are placing all of the high-res art. However, the new art is never the same size as the FPO art, so it all has to be resized and placed. And since these are grade 4 Science books, there is a lot of design going on. It's kinda fun, just slow.

I got most of my holiday shopping done last night. Did it mostly online this year, and that's not really my thing. I prefer to go out hunting for gifts. But it worked better with time and schedules and such to do it this way, so no big deal.

My brain is full of schedules again. On Wednesday we have 5 week/batches due out, on Thursday we have 10 due, on Friday we have 5 due out, and on Monday we have another 4 due out. A "week" is about 300 pages, the amount of material a teacher should be able to get though in a week. The main/core pages of each week is being done in Chenni and the front and back matter is being done here. So I have 24 piles of paper floating around the office, each split in half, so really 48 piles (and corresponding groups of files) that I have to keep track of. Most of my day has been wondering around the building looking for pages. Getting a lot of exercise, at least.

It's all going OK, which worries me, cause that's when you've forgotten something that will bite me in the ass later. There should be over time every day though, which is cool for the extra money.

Yesterday I got the leaves raked, so tonight I have to put them in bags. I'm hoping they aren't too wet. Along with that my back is sore from the raking.

Some days I wish I could just go home after a long day at work and relax. But I just won't let myself do that. I get home and see the 3 million things that need to be done. And then I try and do some of them.

Also, mowing the lawn was not letting my ankle rest. It's still swollen.

We are also in war with the DVR. It refuses to record Torchwood! We set it up to record, make it the highest priority, nothing else is scheduled to record, and nothing happens. Or even worse it records something neither of us have ever heard of. I need to sit down with it and kick it's settings into shape.

So I've missed the first 3 days of Torchwood now, and BBCA is editing out 30 minutes from each episode when they reply them. WTF? I do have it burned to disk from downloads of the British airing, but I'm sure the quality would be better from BBCA. Very annoyed with it now.

Wow, just wow.

My review of the Prophet of Panamindorah was just read on the latest podcast by the author. That is so cool! I know she'll read this post too, but I will just bask in a bit of squee for a bit here at work. I'm certain that nothing I've written before has ever been republished or, in this case, read before. So cool.

It pays to chat with and get to know the authors of the books I like, I guess.

In other news my ankle is really sore. I hurt it a bit on Sunday and it's just escalated at every sport since. I will try and take it easy the rest of the week so I'm healed by next Sunday. I think I need to invest in a second ankle brace, as this is the ankle that has been fine until now. We took two games from the 1st or 2nd place team (I'm not sure where they are in the standings) last night. Good games, played well, had fun.
