I'm liking the new version of iGoogle, very slick.

Stayed out at the Shamrock a bit later than I'd have liked last night. After volleyball (which went wellish, first game was crap, we had some interteam drama, everyone focused and the 2nd two games were much better) I met Paul and Jess at the bar. Next summer Madison is hosting the women's national gay softball tournament and the chairs of the event were in town, so everyone was asked to show up and met them. We hung out, played cards, Paul and Jess played beer pong. It was fun. However this morning came too early.

It's really nice having things to do at work again, but this project is such a mess that we never feel like we are accomplishing anything. it's one problem file after another.

Also someone stole my credit card number again. It's been noticed and the card is being closed, new one on the way. I'm almost getting blase about this, happens every few months. Not sure how, cause I really haven't been using this card for a while now, and not online in a long time. Same account each time too, I think the leak is on the credit card company's end.

No real plans for the weekend. I need to get out and go birthday shopping for all the family and friends in October. Maybe we'll do that tonight.

So my card wouldn't go though last night when buying the ceiling fan and new door bell at the hardware store. I give them a call this morning and it turns out they suspended my account due to suspicious activity. There were a bunch of charges on my card from a paypal account. One that isn't mine. So the card is canceled and a new one is on the way.

Paul suggested that I look into identity protection. This is the second time in 6 years this account has been used by someone not me--not i9ncluding the time I lost my wallet. Anyone out there use identity protection? Any praise/horror stories for any companies?

Um, so this is bad, and any help my flist can give would be great.

CarFax.com just called and wanted to confirm the account I just created on their site. Well I hadn't made one, and the information that was given was suspicious enough that they called me to check. Whoever did this gave my name and address, but an email address of dinesh@europe.com and the phone number for the Special Olympics office in Madison. There was no credit card info given or needed, so they don't have that.

Anything I can do? The info that was given of mine is common knowledge, anyone googleing my name would get that.

I'm a bit worried.

I'm also really, really impressed with CarFax.com. The fact that they review those accounts and check to see if they are real is so cool. So I want to give my official thumbs up to them. If I ever need a car report I'll certainly use them.
