Since I did the on site interview I'd have called them by the end of the week anyway. I honestly can't figure out why I didn't get it, but I'm sure there is some reason. Pity company's won't tell one why they didn't get a job.

cause several people will avoid, but sometimes a thanks for the courtesy follow up call, I do actually appreciate a company with such courtesy.
I know I am asking more of your time, but you sure could help me out if you could tell me what more you were seeking so that if there is another opportunity I might have acquired those skills, or abilities.

Yeah I asked, they said they couldn't tell me for confidentiality reasons. And they called me, which is a nice touch, so I didn't have to do the follow up call.
