Ick snow.

Over slept, means I had to grab breakfast to eat at my desk.

Project loams, deadlines missed.

Thoughts go out to [livejournal.com profile] channonyarrow and [livejournal.com profile] graeae, hope you two are doing ok with the flooding. :hugs:

Meh. It's not really affecting me other than, as usual when things like this happen, my wild desire to get out of town. There is nowhere to go. I don't have a passport, so Canada's out, the passes are closed because of avalanches, and I5 South is shut because of water over the road (again).

If the peninsula wasn't so bloody boring (and possibly very, VERY snowy) I'd consider going out there for the weekend.

I have to call Gwen, though, and make sure she's not actually flooded (I think she's high enough that she's fine). Tacoma's getting flooded; Seattle, not so much, though the rivers are up and there IS flooding - it's just not as bad.

I just saw "Portland cut off from Seattle by flooding" and since I don't know _exactly_ where you two live, I was worried.

Glad you are OK.

Apparently, everything's reopened! Yay!

When they say that, there's a low spot near Chehalis/Centralia (two cities that are really close together) where the Chehalis river floods over I-5 - it's about, oh, a hundred miles south of me, or so, and probably about 75 miles south of Gwen. All the rivers are way, way up - the Toutle river is actually in floodstage, and that river never floods. Like, literally, never. They've got a ranger on the Toutle who's been there for fifteen years and he's never seen it as high as it was Weds. I keep meaning to drive down to Renton (about fifteen miles away) to see what the Green is doing; that one's scary when it floods, since it's developed all the way along it.

The ridiculous part is that this probably means we'll have drought again this year; this water does us no good unless it stays as snowpack, and the snowpack, last time I looked at the mountains, wasn't that great.

*hugs* Yeah, I'm in the lowlands but it was fine here. My back yard had about a foot of water but it wasn't nearly as bad as the freeway that the Puyallup River took over.

Stay safe and dry!

I will! It hasn't rained here in a day though, so the back yard's mostly drained. Sure is soggy out though.
