Our friends Egon and Shannon got married over the weekend. Had a nice, if cold, service on the beach at one of the smaller parks in Madison. Then lots of talking and game playing all Saturday night. Learned how to play Touch of Evil, which was fun. We did get started a bit late.

Also got the website I've been working on for my cousin launched. And after a bunch of really negative comments on facebook, I have some more work to do. I don't understand being so nasty and negative about a wedding/bakery website. I mean, really? Did they see the old one? It played a midi file! That pissed me off for the day, and then I had a long shift at B&N. That second job is not relaxing like the watch shop used to be. I miss that. At B&N I'm on my feet the entire time. And while there was some training, now we are at the learn by fire stage.

I feel it's gonna be a long week. And I might be catching Paul's cold. Hope not.

Everyone has heard about the nude calendar from the rowers from Warwick Uni? Good. The new calendar is available for order today, and they launched a new web site for the new season. And I got to help on the design of the site. Which is pretty cool, IMO. It wasn't much more than playing around with Wordpress, but still fun. Got to work with some of the guys (via email) too.

So go check out http://www.warwickrowers.org/, for the eye candy at least.

Quad Graphics called in response to an application I sent in. This week is apparently the week for companies to talk to me. Paul thinks it's because the economic indicators are looking good, and I tend to agree. I called back the HR guy, and am now waiting for his return call.

It's been a kinda down day for me. No plans though, probably just watch Glee and some Flash training videos.

My business cards came. I think they look good. I actually painted the background and it kept the watercolor quality, I feel.

I didn't know the Web 2.0 was so simple to understand. Like how I use it all the time. Time to add that buzz word to my resume.

I'm trying to decide what to spend my tax return on. We decided we can each of a little of the money for ourselves, since it's been a stressful few months (like eight of them). I'd like some iTunes money so I can get more music (mostly Glee tracks). I'd also like the extended version of Avatar and Supernatural season 5. And a new hoodie. Choices, choices.

My website has been redesigned and updated.

www.jasonkivela.com

Go check it out, let me know what you think. I didn't know that paths were case sensitive these days. It wasn't an issue when I was testing it. Examples of my art work are there. Hopefully I can get some more freelance work. Also all of my photos from various trips are up and collected. I coded it all by hand, and I'm pretty proud of it.

Let me know if you spot any problems?

I love GoDaddy.com so much. I decided it was time to separate the gay volleyball web stuff from my personal stuff. So I made a new godaddy.com account and all it took was about 4 days and 3 phone calls and everything is set up. The new webmaster account now owns the url, hosting plan and email plan. Plus the guys I talk to each time were nice, helpful and smart.

More businesses should be that competent.

Work project is on schedule to go to the printer tomorrow. Everything is approved and directions on how to do that has been passed onto my cover. The only way today could get better is if I had time for a nap.

This is pretty cool, the new season of Dr. Who will be 17 episode, instead of the normal 13, and the extra 4 will actually be downloadable games for Mac/PC that you can play as the Doctor and/or Amy. And the plots will be in the timeline of the season.

Transferring ownership of urls, hosting, and email accounts at GoDaddy.com is kinda annoying. Apparently if I transfer the ownership to someone else, everything associated with the url, hosting, emails, etc., is lost. Not a great business model. Also makes me not want to do web work for organizations any more, or if I do set the organization up with their own account. Course if I do that I don't get as good of mutli-product discounts.

I'd much rather be out in the sun than working at the mall today.

Last night I finished my GoLive book. It was for version 6, two versions behind the CS2 version I have. There are tons of things that my version can do that the book didn't cover. I probably should get a new book. Or switch to CS3 and get one on Dreamweaver. Either way I know enough now to make th eglbt volleyball web site. WIll work on that this week.

Out of stuff to do at work again. I have been given a new project to manage, which is cool. But it won't really get going until after Labor day, so I am training some more (i.e. reading InDesign Magazine).

Early game tonight, not sure what I'll do after. We'll see. Kinda blah today, between the weather and boredom.

Yesterday was nice. Too rainy, but after sleeping in Paul and I met up with my cousin Hilary and her husband for lunch. They were in town for their 5th anniversary. Nice to see them. Found out that she is like 3 months pregnant with her 2nd kid. I need to talk to mom and complain about the routes of communication in this family.

After Paul went to work I spent the rest of the day making posters for the fall volleyball league and then learning GoLive so I can start making web pages in a more effiect fashion. I know that GoLive is now defunct and Dreamweaver has replaced it, but I still have CS2 on my mac, and I think the baskics of GoLive will set me up to learn Dreamweaver quickly. This is the first WYSIWYG web editor I've used, I'm betting the basics for them all are the same.

Planning on taking a long lunch today so I have time to hang out with Paul. He has to work late, and will most Mondays. So this might become a regular thing. We are ironing out our schedules so we can see each other as possible. The relationship keeps getting better, IMO.
