Inspired by episode 3x16 "Illuminated" of Teen Wolf. I loved the black light effect. I don't normally just get inspired and draw something. It was kind of nice, actually.

I forgot to post this here when I put it up on AO3 a few weeks ago. I really am loosing interest in posting stuff about me on LJ. I still enjoying reading other people's stuff though.

Title: Rising and Falling
Prompt Number: 1057
Notes: Created for the 2014 Supernatural Reverse Big Bang. Concept is an angelic Dean is consoling a fallen Castiel. I had an author choose it, drop out, and then a pinch writer step in, and then drop out also. So, no story, just art.

Rising and Falling

Everyone has heard about the nude calendar from the rowers from Warwick Uni? Good. The new calendar is available for order today, and they launched a new web site for the new season. And I got to help on the design of the site. Which is pretty cool, IMO. It wasn't much more than playing around with Wordpress, but still fun. Got to work with some of the guys (via email) too.

So go check out http://www.warwickrowers.org/, for the eye candy at least.

It's been an interesting week.

I took Tuesday off form work to wait for a home gym to be delivered. Paul has less time to go to the gym now with school, so this is an option for working out at home. But the gym was in three packages weighing over 300 lbs. I did not want to have to pick it up from the front office. So I waited at home all day for it, then put it together that afternoon. The morning I was able to get a lot done on my cousin's bakery website and do updates for next year's Milmaids Bowling tournament website. (Thanks to my friends who took a look at the bakery site.)

Wednesday I took a half day off work for my first day at Barnes & Nobel. It was fine, half off Starbucks is going to be a bad temptation. I have my next shift then next Thursday. I'm liking the "borrow a book" policy, so that workers can be up to speed on new books coming out.

Thursday we had a really bad storm. It rained like 2 inches in like 2 hours. I left the apartment at 5:20ish to go to work at the mall, not raining. By the time I was at the intersection to get into the mall, 20 minutes later, it had rained so much that the water was up to the headlights on the cars, you couldn't see the medians and there were cars stalled everywhere. My car sputtered a bit, but I made it in.

I tweeted a pic

Friday my car started acting up. After about 5 minutes of driving, the engine temp would sky rocket, topping out around 290F. I left early from work and took it to the shop. It turns out the water on Thursday had gotten high enough that it reached my cooling fan. The fan speed combined with hitting the water cause all three fan blades to sheared off, sending them flying into my radiator, and putting a hole in it. So today I am car-less, Paul brought me into work, but flood damage is covered by my car insurance, so it should be fully covered. Waiting to hear back.

Might need a ride into work on Monday though.

All though this was work. So stressful and busy there. Huge project with a looming deadline. We are making good progress, but I'm not sure we will finish in time. Going to have to put in some hours form home this weekend.

Tonight we are off to a house warming party for a co-worker of Paul's, which will be fun. I also have a growing list of art to work on, need to get on that, ASAP.

It was a pretty good weekend. Went up to the Twin Cities on Thursday night. Our hotel was kind of crappy, at least with services and customer service, but that just means we won't use them again.

Friday I met some of Paul's extended family and then we saw his sister get her commission from the air force (I accidentally said navy on my tweet).

Then Saturday we went to her college graduation.

Sunday we hit up the Mall of America and the Minnesota Science museum.

Yesterday was cleaning and some Teen Wolf art. I have to get that done soonish, due in a few weeks. Then I have the Supernatural Big Bang to get working on (rough draft due this weekend). I should be able to post/link to my HP Horror fest pieces soon, the reveals will be up shortly.

Yesterday was my nephew's 3rd birthday. I made him an animated image and sent them the link to it. It's not much, but with the distance it works. he apparently had a great party with a bouncy slide, pinata, and gluten free cake pops.

Wish I could have been there.

Here is the image I made him, it's big. If you want to see it again, refresh the page.

I finished my first draco tops harry prompt, entierly on my tablet. I can't wait to post/share it. Have to wait for the fest, of course.

Been a productive weekend, not looking forward to nexr week. Though I can't wait for my haircut with Mitch, it's been a looong time.

I promied another review after I used the new stylus some more. I really like it. The Jot has a small disk on thr end with the connective point a small dot in the center of it. It is long enough to hold like a pen, meaning I can draw with it well. There is no clip or tether, so it could get lost, but I won't use for other than drawing. The one I have was $20, but there is a Pro version, no idea if that is better.

I've been using SketchBook Express for an app on my android tablet, which is working really well. Tons if brush options and it has layers too. I have the free version, but will probably get the $5 version, which has 6 layers instead on only 3 and it can save PSD notjust PNG or JPG.

I hope this means I'll draw more.

Here is my first pic, done with the pencil tip, the air brush, and only black and gray.

The last few days have been filled with email server and spam filter headaches. They seem to be mostly figured out, but I am not a fan of those things right now.

Been busy at work again though, which is good. Mostly last minute, "OMG we have to get the site live NOW!" and "Oh, we didn't tell you about that aspect, yeah sorry, get on that now?" and "I know it's 4:55 there, but I'm on the West Coast, so if you can get that done today?" I don't really mind. I like feeling needed and helpful. And the occasional long day means a long lunch or leaving a bit early on a different day.

I got my Christmas gift off to Jack already. Laura won't give it to him until they are on the plane. They are spending Christmas in Sri Lanka (I think). I made him a comic style eBook. It's formatted to display well on their iPad. It's about how Uncle Jason misses Jack, so he flies to see him. Then the two of them take some magical flying toys to visit the rest of their families. Hoping he likes having a book with him in it.

My family Christmas will be a week from this weekend. My cousin Nate is going up that weekend, so that makes 2 grandkids in Brantwood at the same time, which is the largest gathering of family we'll have. Paul can't get out of work, which sucks. But it will be nice to see grandma and everyone again.

I did some episode art for the Dunesteef podcast.

http://dunesteef.com/2010/10/30/episode-87-sleepless-afternoon-by-rish-outfield/

Haven't heard the story yet, but I'm sure it's good.

Image is OK, the request was a bit last minute so I didn't take as much time as I should have. But it's not horrible, I don't think.

It's been a pretty OK day. Weather was really nice, I took JP for a long walk. He had a blast running though the really tall grass in the park. I also found $20 on the ground.

I got to talk to Laura and Jack briefly. We met up on Skype this morning to chat. But shortly after starting Jack fell off the couch and hit his head. He had a huge bruise and Laura had to deal with that. After they got back online we talked for another 10 minutes or so, until her internet died. Too short. We will try and reschedule.

The Drabblecast B-side episode I did cover art for has been released. It's #12 Social Parasite. Let me know what you think.

This weekend we are planning on finding our halloween costumes. I also want to find a new key chain, mine is ripping apart.
