I plan to post pictures and a trip report this weekend.
It's interesting to see how things are run at work. I had a great project. I set it all up and ran the production, so there were no problems, everything went very smoothly. When I left for vacation, 6 books were going to the printer while I was gone and then 6 more were going a few weeks later. So I come back and find out that since it was going so well, someone with less experience at running projects is now handling it and they give me a new one that is a complete mess.
Now as Paul pointed out, this is a sign that they trust me to handle complex projects. I'm just amused that like my job at Apex, once again I fix things and then someone else works on the smooth project while I get another disaster. Oh well, it's OK. I'm not mad/annoyed, just amused. The new project has been beaten into shape and we can start working on it now. Basically another comp house had it and the publisher pulled it for some reason and told us "Here, fix this and make our printer deadline." Also, we quoted this to be sent over to India, but it's too complicated for them, so now we have to fix it, but do it at overseas prices (which are much less than domestic ones).
Paul and I are also very tired. Or jet lagged. Or still on Island Time. Something. Have accomplished somethings that need doing. Have many others lined up for the weekend. Won't have time to go and watch mom and brother-in-law ski the Birke this weekend. I home mom isn't too disappointed.
