Why not relocate for your dream job?

Apply. What have you got to lose? That house of yours is in a primo location and should be easy to sell.

All I'm saying is, apply. See where it goes. maybe SJG has relocation assistance. If they want you, they can make it happen. Don't regret a risk you didn't take.

I can even give you advice on the best way to move that futon. ;)

It's not a dream job, just would be a cool one. Gaming companies are not known for their competitive wages. And I really can't sell my house for 4-5 more years without hainvg to pay back a lot of the interest I'm not getting for the loan deal I got. They might relocate, but it's Texas, I like Wisconsin. All good points though!

I just think you should at the very least put in your application. You have nothing to lose except a job you sometimes don't care for and a freelance gig that you (sometimes) hate.

Apply, it won't hurt anything. Plus say they like you, you can always say no. Think of the ego boost it will give you. =) Plus they may be willing to work with someone they really want, sometimes companies put restrictions in their ads to help weed out applicants but they really are willing to work with their employees. You never know, give it a shot.
