A few years ago I had a really, really hard time finding a morning radio show to listen to. I only have it on during the drive to work, so like 5-10 minutes, but almost all of them can get really annoying in that short time. I finally found one I was OK with, Connie and Fish, plus the music the station plays I like as well. Not too long ago Fish left and it became Connie and Curtis. And I was still able to stomach it. Most radio shows try to be a tamed down version of Howeard Stern. Going for shock value, with poop and fart jokes being the bread and butter. I hate that. But last week the radio station decided top save money, cut their local morning program and use a syndicated one from New York. First off that pisses me off, local job wise. And the new guy and his team annoy the fuck out of me. I tried to like him, he's out gay and talks about his partner like it's a normal thing. No one on his staff cares either. He's a gay radio personality. But it's not about being gay. Which is refreshing. But the jokes and topics are just dumb and I still don't like it. I can only go so far supporting the community.

Looks like I'm gonna be plugging in the ipod on the way into work now.

(Did this post seem pointless to anyone else? Oh well, at least I'm posting.)

When I don't listen to NPR in the morning (which is pretty rare, and also means that I'm probably running super late because Morning Edition goes off the air at 9), I mostly listen to a "plays everything" computer run station because I just can't stand most morning shows either. It's too damn early to listen to people bather about stupid bullshit. Play some decent music and STFU.

So basically, I get where you're coming from.
