I forget which book blog I was following that covered the works of Andre Norton, maybe Tor.com? But the over view interested me, and since a lot of her works are public domain now, I grabbed a bunch. I have finished All Cats are Gray now and I liked it. It's a pretty short story, but well written. It wasn't deep or heavy, just a good sci-fi story. I'm looking forward to more of her stuff. I think they will be good filler stories between novels.

Andre Norton was a woman, actually. A grand author! Lots of classic fast-paced adventure stuff in a variety of genres. My spouse is a big fan, and got to meet her once when he was very young.

Oh good lord, thanks, fixing now... That's what I get for not researching, I guess.

Hee. No worries. I thought the exact same thing when I was reading all her books back when I was a kid, and was boggled later to find out that she was a woman. (My first reaction, back in high school, was actually an indignant, "Then why does she keep writing about boys?" Not that I thought she couldn't, but it seemed unfair that even the female writers would have male protagonists. Ah, childhood issues.) Anyway, she's pretty awesome. She has this one book with intelligent cats and an alien pet store that's just great, though I can't remember the name. Something starting with Cat.

Interesting that you say that, and the protagonist to the first one I read, All Cats are Gray, has a female lead. I'll have to try and find that other one, thanks. Not sure if you do read eBooks much, but a lot of them are free for the Kindle on Amazon now.

Forgive me for randomly butting in, but I've started combing the LiveJournal search results to find out whether and where people are interested in Andre Norton. The book you've mentioned is Catseye! I haven't read many of her books yet, but Catseye was my first one. The cover totally sold it to me at an antique shop. :)
