radlilimIt's been a good weekend. Saturday morning I drove up to the cabin at the lake and made good time. Laura got stuck in traffic leaving the Twin Cities, so I hung out with cousins and aunts and uncles until her and Jack arrived. There was some family drama that caused some people to leave early, but it was still nice to see everyone.
After Laura and Jack arrived we cooked supper and hung around the camp fire. Jack is fully mobile, walking everywhere. He just needs some help up and down steps. He's still cute and a joy to be with. We all stayed out at the lake that night, and got to bed early.
Which was good, since Jack got us up at 6am Sunday morning. I cooked pancakes for breakfast, since it was father's day. Then we all went swimming, first time for Jack in a lake. he had no fear of the water, but it was cold enough that he didn't want to stay in long. Eating sand was much better. We made a quick lunch after Jack's nap and then took a pontoon ride. No problems with gas or anything this time. While Jack napped mom, Laura, aunt Sue and I played Rummikub. Fun game, I won. Jack woke up, and we went back to Brantwood for sauna. I snapped pictures of all the various art work I have around mom and dad's house so I can put it up on my website soon. After sauna I painted the CO-OP park 75th anniversary logo on a bench dad is making for a raffle. Turned out well I think, after Laura gets me the pictures I'll post them.
Up early again Monday morning for breakfast with Jack and a quick trip out to the cemetery for a picture of Grandma Kivela's headstone which I designed and to pay our respects. Then I visited Gram Jokinen and Carol before driving home.
I got a quick nap in and then we went to the Memorial Union for a wedding reception for one of Paul's friends. It was a Renaissance style wedding, and everyone looked great. We might have found replacements for our D&D game also.
At work now, 7pm to 5:30am shift this week. Nothing in for the project forcing this schedule tonight, but it sounds like we will be busy with it later in the week.
