radlilim: (gay podcasts chest)

We had our first softball game for this season last night. It was only a scrimmage, but we did win 8 to 2. It was lots of fun. Our team seems like a good group of people. I was surprised about who some of the members ending up being, since when Jess and I picked the team we went by position request and skill ranking. We didn't know some of our friend's last names, so we were pleasantly surprised by some of our members. I'm quite sore today, too much time off from being active. It only took me about 4 innings to remember how to pitch. And I think it was a good thing that Jess and I made some of the first errors on our team, helpful to the new players to see that.

The clients at work continue to be annoying. Asking me to rename a folder on _their_ FTP site because it is confusing is just dumb. They clearly understand what the files are, they can rename that folder just fine. I have actual live work to do, it's a waste of my time.

I've started listening to 2 new podcasts. First is Mur Lafferty's Tor.com podcast. I've only listened to the last two episodes, but both stories were really, really good. And the production was good also.

Second I started listening to the Merciless Storytellers contest put on by Chrisitana Ellis. Very cool idea, basically podcasters submit a 5 minute short story. Chrisitana and her other hosts play them and then give their reviews, a lot like Idol. Then the listeners can go to the website and vote for their favorites. The winner's go into a second round, with longer stories and competes against one of the hosts. That winner gets a portion of the google ad revenue. The first batch of stories were decent. But hearing the host's opinions was fun.

I'm hanging out with Becky tonight, she is in town for an interview. It will be nice to catch up, been too long.
