Jul. 21st, 2009 11:33 amI am not a fan of the "fantasy" stories where a modern day situation is objectified by giving it a medieval/fantastical covering. I'm not sure I'm describing that well. Two examples are the current podcastle story I'm listening too, where its basically a grass roots / rural attempt at over throwing corporate America. The other was where the peasants of a medieval village hire an accountant, trained by monks to fight the horrible beast that is tax law, to take on the corrupt dealings of the wizard-governor and free them of his oppressive taxing. :eye roll:
Really not a fan. I wish Podcastle would stick to dragons/elves/magic, and not try to be edgy. I want the high-fantasy stories in my fantasy podcast.
