This is where I bitch.

My face has been aching all day, giving me a horrible headache. Being in pain makes me grumpy. Always has, and I think it's an OK reaction. However not a good mood to be in when one is doing customer service. I'm pretty sure I pulled out the fake smile and happy voice all day when needed.

exarian lent me The Hunger Games, I finished it in like 2 days. It was good, a nice easy read, though I could have done without the romantic part. Starting Catching Fire now, though the first one seemed pretty complete. The second one will probably be good, but I don't think it will be similar, more political, not sure what else they could do. That's all a guess though, I'll let you know after I finish it.

I have watch Iron Man 1 & 2 and Thor now. I'm ready for Capt. when it comes out. Then will be caught up for Avengers (does one need to see Hulk?). Iron man was fun, though I prefer my superheros to have powers. Was never a fan of batman either. Thor was kinda cool, nice mythos. Sexy. Too many clothes.

And happy birthday to anothersuperboy, hope you had a great one.

Feeling very... blah today.

My back and neck have been out of wack and hurting for a few days. I wake up in pain and still tired from tossing all night. My face is mostly healed, physically. No blisters or swelling, and only a very feint redness. But my upper lip is still numb/tingly. My cheek bone just aches all the time. And when the cold wind blows on my face it hurts like hell.

I was finally able to shave again, which is nice. The itchiness of the beard was annoying.

I'm having fewer moments of not knowing what I'm doing at work, but they still show up. Haven't pissed any clients off lately, as far as I know. I do seem to be developing a good relationship with a lot of them, I tend to joke around with a few of them over email.

Nothing exciting to look forward too at the moment. I am planning on going up north to mom and dad's late in October to see everyone. And we might go to a concert mid October with Becky and Drew. That isn't confirmed yet though.

I want something, something to change, but I don't know what.

Paul and I are caught up on Game of Thrones (thanks graeae). He's hooked, wants to get the books now.

Not much else up. Still healing from the shingles. Rash is pretty much gone, though my face is a bit numb in areas. And there is a throbbing pain in my cheek. I'm thinking I can shave soon, the skin seems healed enough for that at least.

Man am I not a fan of beards. Especially on me. Paul dose not like it either, but it hurts to shave half of my face, and having half of one's face shaved just looks dumb. So I'll be growing out the soup catcher until the rash goes away. The weird thing is my beard comes in reddish, like Dad's hair before he started going gray. And Paul's never seen me with one, since it's been a looong time since I had one. Should be interesting.

The sharp, stabbing pain in my cheek can go away any time now too.

It was a pretty uneventful weekend. My face was swollen and red through most of it. I mostly sat inside and watched TV without my glasses, as they hurt to wear with the swollen nose. I only left when JP needed a walk, and when I did that it was with a hoodie on pulled low over my face. Didn't want to scare the neighbor kids.

I took pictures along the way, mostly so I could track the progress.

By Sunday night the swelling was mostly gone, but I still have a red, scaly rash from my eye over to my nose and down to my mouth, and that will last for another 2-3 weeks. Joy.

But I'm back at work and things are going fine. Our full team is in the office again, and thus the stress and work load is evened out again.

It has been a long day.

On Monday I had a sore on my nose where my glasses rest. This happens, so I ignore it. Yesterday my face gets kind of sore and my teeth become really sensitive. The sore on my nose starts to discarge a bit of fluid. After talking with Paul we decide I should have it looked at. So I plan to call the doctor today. This morning I wake up with the entire left side of my face swollen. I look like I've had a stroke. My eye is kind of swollen shut as well as my lip, making it look droopy. I decide to call in to work, saying I'll be late. I head off to urgent care. It doesn't open until 9. What part of "urgent" means "opens at 9am"? So I go into work for an hour, since I'm up and about anyway and then go back to the clinic. Turn out I have shingles. So I'm semi contagious, so I can't go into work the rest of the week. But with one coworker working off site at a conference, I can't in good conscious leave all of my work and the one who is gone to the one guy left. No one is the cruel. Plus I don't have any sick time yet. So I worked remotely, dialing in via VPN and talking to people on my cell phone. It was slow, but I got things done. And I'll do that tomorrow. I should be fine by Monday. However, this dose mean that I can't go to Milwaukee with exarian for the beer fest on Saturday. Which blows.

On good news, our NOH8 photos have been posted! So I have a new default icon. I decided to retire the cabana boy I've had since I joined LJ.
