I hate, hate, HATE people who "join" you at the median. The situation: On the way home from work I come to an intersection with a divided road, one with a median between the directions. So when turning left, one can check the oncoming traffic and when clear move to the median and sit there until the traffic one is merging with is clear. But some people decide that there is enough room to pull up next to a person, one one's right and sit there also. Blocking one's view of the on coming traffic. So after cursing through the window one has to inch out enough to see around the other car. It's even better if they are in a truck. Anyone know if that is just stupid, or also illegal?

For most of the morning my little finger was numb. I figure I had a pinched nerve some where alone my arm. Over lunch I did something to fix it, I guess. Gotta love my body. Skeletal structure for the win.

I had hoped that they would have found someone to cover for me on my old project so I could keep working on the project that we have no hope of making the deadline. But since they consider me amazing, I guess I get to try and do both. Oh well, over time is good. Right?

Moved from Dr Who/Torchwood audio fics to Supernatural for a while. I am in love with this new audio fic site.

Volleyball was a lot of fun last night. Dropping down to one night a week is a bit of a change. I was very jumpy and excited during the first game, hitting the ball too hard. But after that I started playing better and we played pickup games for 2 hours. It was fun. I have a large bruise on one knee from a dive.

Afterwards we hung out at Jess and Lari's for a bit, watching Planet Earth on Discovery. We really like that series, hopefully we can get it on DVD some day.

I found a fanfic audiobook site today. I should be able to keep myself in at work entertainment for months.

Torchwood "fic" rec:

Title: Stationary Hub
Author: [livejournal.com profile] morebliss
Rating: standard-ish
Length: ...short? oneshot
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Jack/Ianto (as you've never seen them before), Gwen, Tosh, Owen (and the team too)
Genre/Category: Humor! Crack! Art!
Warnings: Those of you who have a fear of office supplies should avoid this.
Spoilers: No. Just no.
Summary: Paperclips, a glass of wine, and [livejournal.com profile] woolly_socks - thus was born... THE STATIONARY HUB!

Why you should read it: Well, it's Torchwood, but, see, they're made out of paperclips, and Jack is the bent one, and, see, he's always touching Ianto and... just go look at it and have a laugh. Secure the tasty beverages before you click. This is a very clever fic, told with the use of paperclips. It's short and simple, but a lot of fun. Frankly, I just love to see what Torchwood fans get up to when left to their own devices. Do you think we'd get more fic like this if a box of office supplies mysteriously appeared on the author's doorstep?

Two cool links for today. Harry Potter meets Jane Austin.

And Paul and I had a great time last night with http://www.palinaspresident.com/.

EDIT: Three links! The new Star Trek crew, for the new movie. Why dose Kirk get to where black? Evil!Kirk?

I've been playing "turn font off, turn font on, check document" for an hour now. I'm told eventually it will work. Stupid customers making their own fonts. I'm sure its a great sign that the first letter of every weight is missing. :eye roll:

Just started reading some Chole/Dean fic by [livejournal.com profile] xtremeroswellia. It's a great pairing.

Still kinda annoyed at work these days. Volleyball last night didn't make the day any better. We lost all three games but the crappy part was I didn't play well, so really didn't enjoy myself. And Em didn't make it out either. Mall tonight, might work on the Heros art piece I have due in a few weeks, or watch Dr Who, we will see.

Work continues to drag. Nothing to do, looking around the office most everyone is reading something online. I finished the InDesign magazines yesterday. Today I found an archive of Adobe magazines, so am slowly going through them. I like PDF/online magazines, the added videos and sound clips add a lot, IMO. Have considered taking PTO, but the weather is crappy and I feel it'd be a waste of my limited time off.

I've started to read fanfic again. This time I'm focusing more on novel length works. And usually a lower content rating. I got all the way though Cartographer Craft by [livejournal.com profile] sam_storyteller already. I really liked that one. Canon up to HBP, Sirius/Harry. Normally not a pairing I like or will read. But Sirius is younger, so its less weird. Now I've m moved onto Laocoon Children by the same author. I was intrigued by the title, the Laocoon Group is my favorite Roman sculpture, but so far have no clue how the title fits with the plot. It's a rework of Harry's story, with just a few changes that impact the actions a lot. I am enjoying it. He also has some Torchwood pieces which I will try soon.

Still a bit freaked out about the car/money/laptop issue. But I've decided to calm down, focus more on Paul and I, and relax. So I am reading more. And that is working, I think.

Apparently for the warranty I have on the car now I needed to have the dealership contact the company before repairs were done and then they pay. I'm sending them a letter asking to ignore procedure this time, pay me back for what's been fix on the car, and from here on out I will do it in the correct order. Here's hoping.

[livejournal.com profile] anothersuperboy so often sends out good fic recs that I thought I'd share one also.

Allow (NC-17), It's PC/Mac slash, from those apple commercials. This one is Mac/Vista Security. Most interesting fandom I've found so far.

Apparently there is a community also. [livejournal.com profile] mac_hearts_pc Who knew?
