Apr. 22nd, 2008 08:45 amLong, full weekend.
Friday we drove to the Twin Cities in the rain. There was quite a bit of construction, and two way traffic on the interstate. So we had on coming cars, trucks and semis, with lots of road glare. We arrived around 11 and went out for a few drinks with Paul's mom. She was particularity interested in finding out all about me, so I had to answer some questions.
Saturday we met up with my sister and Rob, aunt and uncle, and cousin Hilary and her family for lunch. First time seeing Hill's newest baby, which was cool. Then Laura and Rob took us to a Twins game. It was a fast game, but had enough action to keep everyone interested. After that we had Thai food downtown. We had thought of going back to Laura and Rob's for a few drinks, then going out for dessert. But after half a pitcher of mojitos and half a bottle of wine, we decided to stay in. We played Trivial Pursuit until Paul's allergies from their cat made him miserable and then went back to the hotel for a short hot tub soak.
Sunday we met up with Paul's mom and sister and went to the Mall of America for some shopping and lunch. Paul needed some new work clothes for his new job and Avril, Paul's sister, need some shoes for prom. We ate at a nice and fast sushi place in the mall. They made a free fruit dessert plater for us when they found out is was Paul's mom's birthday. We went back to his parent's house and while Paul's mom made dinner (I don't know why she wouldn't let us take her out on her birthday) Paul and I took a walk though the woods he used to play in as a child. He got all nostalgic and realized that everything is a lot smaller now. We had dinner when Paul's dad came home. Okee (sp?) made Korean barbecue which was very good. We hung out and the family talked about when Paul and Avril were kids until about 11. We visited with them for about 12 hours.
Monday we got up and went over to say good bye to Paul's mom and have brunch with her. She called in and took the day off work to see him again. On they way out of town we swung back to the Mall to pick up two vests Paul had decided to get and drove home. We had dinner at Pedro's since neither of us felt like cooking and then Jess came over to hang out. I went to sleep part way into Goblet of Fire.
Tonight I have a InDesign User Group meeting and then will met up with my aunt who's in town for the night. Then after I pick up Paul from work we will go downtown for a few drinks with one of Paul's friends for her birthday.
Weekend here yet?
