Jun. 28th, 2006 09:14 amI know I've said this before, but I love two-on-two volleyball. Last night we actually played two-on-three, but I was on the doubles team. It's very reassuring to know that if I was not the last one to hit the ball and it's still on our side of the court, I _have_ to get to it. And Al, the guy I was playing with, knows that after he hits it, he needs to either not move, or get out of the way if I have to retrieve the ball from a hard retrun. It was lots of fun and we took 2 out of 5. Not bad with Lin's good placement and Em and David's hard serves. It'd be cool to try and play men's doubles, but that is almost always in sand and I'm just not as fast in the sand.
As for our real match, we took two of three. Not bad from the Salamanders. They didn't have Jason, their really good server (he had hurt his ankle) and Doug showed up late. So they were donw a few good players for a while, but they are still the #2 or #3 team, and the one that took a game from the #1 team. So I still feel it was a good match.
Signed up for the next season. Playing 2 nights a week at Pooley's. I think I'll email Ben and see if they are having a night also.
Half day at work today as I'm picking
exarian up at noon and we head to the Twin Cities for the InDesign conference. Also get to see my sister, my aunt and swing by my uncle's place to pick up a table he carver/built/burnt for the Co-op park this weekend.
Busy, busy.
