Mar. 10th, 2009 07:57 amThere are days when I want to sit down with our sales people and try to figure out what planet they are from. As anyone whos' been reading this knows, my last project was hell. I was doing one grade of a teacher's edition for a text book. My team got it done one day late, go us. Yesterday I am told that another grade, done by a different vendor, is still not done and we have agreed to help them out by doing the final steps for one of their units. Why? Everyone should know how badly my project went. Why would they think another project, one that is a week late, will be any better.
yet we say we'll take some 300 pages of their book and finish it in one day.
So yesterday was long and stressful. I kinda wish someone would have at least consulted me. Even if they don't care what production thinks, it'd be nice if the illusion was there.
It didn't get done yesterday, mostly because we are still missing things from the client (like fonts) and the last of the files weren't sent to us until 5pm.
Tired today, am working at the mall tonight. I wonder if I remember how to do everything...
