I hate it when people who are dumber than me make tons more money! (gonna go geeky on you guys for a sec) You know how in Adobe products that allow you to use layers you can set the color for the bounding boxes of the objects on the layer? Well some big shots at the companies that I'm doing stuff for keep asking me why some of their items have a redish rule on them and some have a blue, and some green, etc. And then why dose it go away when you make PDF?

For fucks sake! How can you be in the desktop publishing or typesetting business and not understand how layers work? Illustrator has been using them for ever and its in version 11!

Grrrrr, on the brighter side, the beer I had for lunch was nice.

Every day graduate school looks better and better.

OMFG. Don't even get me started. The head honcho for ebook production at R----- H---- once emailed me because she didn't know how to make an OEB package file. (Or, apparently, how to READ THE EFFING SPEC, which describes it very thoroughly.)

Eh, well, she's probably been fired by now. :)

Oh, and as for grad school -- If you're going in something halfway practical, go you. If not, don't bother, not even to hide from the work world; grad school is too expensive for that.

If you're thinking of getting a nice humanities degree and settling in as a professor -- FORGET IT FORGET IT FORGET IT. The job market sucketh mightily, tenure-track jobs disappear by the microsecond, and the entire enterprise is marked by cutthroat competition, contempt, and anxiety. You can do better. Almost anywhere.

Naw, ever since I was a kid I wanted to be a scientist. SO I'm thinking maybe something with biology. Maybe marine biology, I like fish and animals. It's a dream that I will check out and see how practical it is.

I don't think I want to teach. Much more interested in working out doors doing research. It's a thought.

Interupting :)

A friend of mine studied biology. She's a biologist or whatever it's called. *don't laugh with my vocabulary!*
Anyway, it were hard studies but she spent many months in the jungle of Congo where she studied the Bonobo. It's pretty interesting though.

Naw, I won't pick on you, you got it right. And that's what I kinda want to do. But probably more with fish or other ocean animals. I know it'll be hard, but I think I'm smart enough to pull it off. The big questions are, where to go and how to pay for it. :)
