I dislike insurance agents and their industry. We are trying to find insurance for Paul. He has one black spot on his driving record, which is two years old and has been taken care of as much as he can. But they still jack up the rates. Apparently things hang on your driving record for every (or at least 5 years). His black spot happened when he was 22, he's now 24. Now a lot can change with a person in two years when they are that young. They just don't want to help people fix their mistakes.

However, GEICO will give us good coverage for half what AAA wants. We will talk on it, and after I compare home insurance there too, maybe I'll bring all my business to them and screw AAA after 8 years of business. You'd think they'd care about my money, but it seems they don't.

InDesigner User's meeting tonight, then volleyball. Meanwhile I'm tired and have a headache and would rather just go home and veg.

Yeah he's in a tough spot. Unfortunately, there's nothing he can do about the record, if it's there it's there. Doesn't matter until the 5 year drop off point. Also, rates drop considerably at age 25, so keep that in mind. Have you tried the big companies? State Farm, American Family and General Casualty. I've been with State Farm for about 6 years now and I'm really happy with them. Through my experience with American Family, I know that their rates for male under 25 tend to be higher than other companies, but I don't think it would hurt to check them out.

I figured AAA was "big", but I might check those out too. Thanks.

It's just sitting down, looking what I have with AAA, then looking at other options and deciding where to go. I feel I need like 2 days off to tackle that.

AAA doesn't really count as they started offering insurance as an after thought. I would really check out some of the other companies that can insure all of your needs. And, as soon as possible, switch everything over. The more products you have with them, the more you save. I spend $120 per month and that's on Car, House and Life. And I pay extra on life as it's a Universal Life policy that allows me to invest for retirement. If I didn't have that, I would be paying about $80 a month. But, I am also a girl, and we get cheaper rates for a few more years. ;)

I was and am with AMFAM, but I have to tell you that my rates got reviewed when I was a zero fault/innocent in a three car accident. I used my medical $2000 worth of coverage to cover the priminary bills, and two weeks later, I received a note saying that my rates were now going to be reviewed. 277 for six months went to 384! They also aren't helping me recover the rest of the bills. When I started shopping last week, I was told by several people that common practice is that if you were wearing your seatbelt during the accident, the insurance company will double that coverage, AM FAM won't. so, I have to say, I looked elsewhere and there is alot that I don't like about AmFAm anymore. I am pretty livid!

Anyway, credit scores, speeding tickets, and accidents are all looked into for your premium rate.

also, they pulled my car VIN and found that my car was reported to have had two accidents in 2004 and wanted to know why I hadn't reported those... I responded with, because I didn't own the car until 2006!
