Bit too much celebrating my new job last night, hung over today. The boss is in California for a few days for a conference and meetings, so it's just us staff members today. More laid back (everyone is in jeans) but still stuff to do. Going though the office and computer, deciding what is important. Will probably try redoing the news letter in InDesign too. I have no plans on making design changes, it's for doctors and you go for classical designs with that audience. Everyone seems kinda leary of me being too creative. I design for my audience/customer (who in this case is my boss). They will learn that soon enough. But I will make the layout for the newsletter more stream lined, thats where my talents are.
I hope to hook up with Em for a bit tonight after volleyball. Exchnge gifts and such. Catch up. We will have to make an effort to keep in touch now that we aren't in the same office and she is dropping one volleyball league with me. Also I hope that the group (
exarian,
niburu33, Shannon, maybe
whenever and
cmcykana, etc.) can get together this week (shooting for Thursday) for holiday stuffs. It looks like I might have Monday and Tuesday off, which will make mom happy.
Apparently the shoulder surgery my Dad went though for the left arm didn't go well. He's OK, but will never get 100% back without more reconstrutive surgery. They'll start rehab and see how much they can get fixed. I guess they also fucked up the IV and the pain killers for it. Dad was pissed, or that's what mom told Laura. He didn't mention any of that when I talked to him (which was like 5 days late--and cause Laura reminded me, was a bad son), but I'll ask him more this weekend. This all really sucks, dad is such an active person it is hard to see him limited in any way.
