Aug. 27th, 2012 03:35 pmI took me a long time, but I finally finished the audio version of Dreaming of Deliverance by R.E. Chambliss. The delay was because I just don’t have the time to listen to podcasts anymore with this job, not because it was hard to get through.
I loved the story. The characters were well written and there was a lot of depth to them, very few one-dimensional ones. The world was really unique. Both worlds, actually. I’d term it as a world travel / low fantasy story.
I spent a lot of time worried about what was going to happen to the main character. Her situation and life really called out to me. And the ending is just gut wrenching.
I’m hoping to pick up the short stories based in the world soon, when I have funds. And I really hope that the sequel gets made. Oh, and Renee’s voice is still awesome. I first heard it on Abbie’s podcast.
Rating: A
