Saturday mornings are pretty slow at the post office. Hardly any of the companies that have PO boxes send drivers, so it's a lot more laid back. After work I tried the new oatmeal at McDonald's. It was OK. Very watery, not creamy at all, but the raisins, cranberries, apples and maple they put in it makes it tasty. I had a coupon for a free bowl, so I'm not out anything, and it might be a good option instead of the hash browns for me.

Driving up north went smoothly. We had meatloaf followed by sauna. And we watched the football game. Today I talked with Laura and Jack briefly on skype after breakfast. Then mom and I went over to visit with Grandma and Carol. In the afternoon we did a few miles cross country skiing and then watched more football. Mom tells me they normally don't watch much football, it's just this weekend. We had a great dinner of pheasant baked with wild rice and then another sauna. Tonight's was my first time in the indoor sauna, which gets a lot hotter than the outside one. When I went in I thought is was just shy of 100 degrees C, but since I didn't have my glasses one I didn't notice that it was actually just shy of 120 C! Very warm, but felt nice.

We are going to try and meet up with Laura and Jack on skype again tomorrow morning before mom goes to work. Then I'll have coffee with my friend Ben and then lunch with grandma and Carol, before driving back to Madison.

Laura sent me and Paul some nice gifts back with mom and dad. Dates with a traditional serving plate, a singing stuffed camel, some Christmas decorations and a cookbook--which read right to left and each recipe is in both English and Arabic.

Edit: my sister reminded me that the thermostat is in Celsius, not Fahrenheit, entry corrected.
