Sep. 14th, 2009 09:43 amFall volleyball league started, mostly a social night, but had a lot of team organization for those who signed up individually. Was fun playing and meeting some new people. One guy just happened to be at the bar and joined on the spot. Totally random, we did stress the gayness of the league, so he's not surprised. Damn good player too, jump serve and a wicked spike, but I blocked him the first time we faced off, so he hit around me for the rest of the night, occasionally hitting it out.
I also somehow ended up on two teams. My normal one, that one I've been on for like 3 years and a lower level one where I am the coach. Not sure where Dale came up with this plan. Basically for the lower skilled players or those that are new, he made teams up and then put on a more experienced player on as their coach. I'm kinda honored to be picked to be a coach, I don't think I'm that level of player--one that can pass on skills, but I'll do my best. I am a bit worried what will happen when my new team plays my old one. Do I have to choose? Gonna talk to Dale about it more, maybe the two teams aren't in the same league? Though I thought I heard that we were only having on division this session. And even so, there should be times when the two teams play at the same time, even if they aren't against each other. No other board members knew about this, so hopefully he'd thought this out.
I also got my iPhone synced to Paul's computer, finally. So I have my info backed up and can load new podcasts again. Very happy about this. Course if I do replace the dead laptop, I'll have to go though it all again. Oh well, such is the high tech life.
