Not only do I have to work all weekend at the Hilton, but now I get to work all weekend at Apex too. Life is just swell!

I hate my fucking job, but mostly I hate the fucking facility in fucking India.

Apparently I get vile in my 12th hour of work...

Yeah, the twelfth hour of work will make one pretty vile.

So, did you get a Mac or a PC? Did you see that all the new Intel Macs can run Windows now? You can boot into XP or OSX when you start up the machine. Word is that VMWare is working on something for Macs to let them run Windows inside of OSX.

Got any great need for someone to freelance in InDesign? Someone in Arkansas, maybe?

Do I have the need, yes. Can I get it approved, I doubt it. I'll check though. I've been trying to add to my staff for months now. Bottom of list, I guess.

I got a G4 iBook. Not top of the line, but does what I need. I saw that, but I also saw that Adobe isn't supporting those Macs, including the CS2 suite. They say CS3 will support those macs. With that news, I'm not in that big a rush.

I dig. I'm currently working, but I pretty much hate my job. If I could ultimately pile up enough work outside of work, I could (hopefully) leave. I'm not holding my breath. If it ever comes up that I can get some freelance, I'd buy a copy of the standard Adobe Creative Suite. I can upgrade my Photoshop 7 to Photoshop+Illustrator+InDesign for $500, which isn't too bad. Btw, I've come to love InDesign. When I start projects at work, I pretty much never start them in Quark.

The iBook G4 is a fine machine. It's not so much that you can't run the Adobe apps on the Intel Macs, as there aren't native versions of the software yet. Like you, I'm not too concerned. I figured a G5 PB was right around the corner when I bought my G4 PB last January, and I was prepared for it. This machine suits me fine.

Ah, another convert, Ha Ha Ha! I don't use Quark ever, unless we get customer file in Quark 6 (since InDesign won't convert them).

I'll mention it to Russell. We haven't tried farming comp work out to freelancers yet, but I'm spending all weekend fixing messes (and this is just the first batc of the job), so I do need help.

I'll certainly be interested to hear what's going on. I'm not ready to make any commitments yet (I'm a guy, so I have to be non-commital), but I'd like to hear about any possibilities.

And yes, how can someone who uses InDesign NOT convert from Quark? I've switched one person at work to more of an InDesign take on life, because InDesign actually does PDFs right. Quark can't seem to import or export them very well. Did I mention that I hate Quark?
