I think they're trying to get more suckers to eat chinese food, if you look at it as "We (the fortune cookie company) need to attract (to our product) people who create more light (from the fact that their brains are light - they're generally stupid but basically nice people) than heat (as given off by people who frequently cogitate)(because we are not making a goddamn cent off this operation any more because everyone's figured out how it works, and everyone knows someone who put a ring in a fortune cookie, or has seen an ad in a fortune cookie, or has gotten a comedy fortune in a fortune cookie, and our profits have gone completely out the window, so send in the morons plzthx)".
