Feb. 9th, 2011 06:59 pmThe semi-manager/trainer at the post office (he's not in charge of me, but he is the one showing me how to do things) said that if it was up to him, he'd grab me up as a full time employee at a heart beat. That was a nice complement. Nice to know someone recognizes that I'm working hard. He's actually really good at giving positive feedback.
I went to a career fair today at the job center. I got two leads on graphic design type jobs, which was surprising. I hadn't even thought to bring my "graphic design" resume, I had my more generic one. One job is at a temp agency, and they are having a hard time filling a web designer position with their current pool. The other would be working for the UPS Store. They have a small graphics department for designing business cards, flyers and such for customers. I'd work the counter and that department. We will see if I get any interviews. I also signed up to be a driver/sales rep for Cintas--the people who do a lot of industrial laundry service for companies. The pay seemed good and the hours were decent. Hopefully if the assistant manager spot at Walgreen's falls through that one might work.
