I might have found a solution to help keep me off a PC! W00t!

Anyone know how a Mac mini would work as a graphics production machine?

well that's good to know. but i like the guys idea of going with the pc upkeep (ie: virus's)

A Mac mini would be fine. The main slowness factors come from:

a) slower sys bus (not that big of a deal)
b) laptop hard drives used in the mini (4200 rpm)

You can solve the latter problem by running an external Firewire or USB 2.0 drive offa the thing. Those are pretty cheap these days. Otherwise, I think they're good machines, and if I could change things, I'd go back in time and buy a Mac mini and an iBook 12" instead of the PB 15" I picked up. FYI, Mac minis appear to have the lowest failure rates of any Apple machines, according to Macintouch's informal polling. Ironic, but cool.

well the only thing that can really be done is a thorough cost analysis. someone needs to make a complete list of everything that would be involved in either staying with MAC in the states and switching to MAC in the mother country and put that along side a list of switching to PC in the states and the mother country staying this same. Basically this is going to require lists, charts and projected costs for at least a 5 year period. but really, i'm willing ot bet it would be cheaper for them to go MAC in india. only research will show...
