As a nice parting gesture, my boss at the WCA gave me today off. I didn't have anything left to do, so he told me to turn in my key at the end of yesterday and thanks for working for them. I'll be back for freelancing stuff until the get my replacement. So I have an unexpected Friday off!

Had to get up earlish since I have an appointment this morning, but that's OK. I want to get a bunch of house chores done today. Have things to fix and clean. I hope it gets nice enough so I can mow the lawn too.

Last night was very, very cold playing volleyball. After I came home, took a hot shower and chilled, since I was feeling sickish. Today I'm fine.

And fadethecat used this metaphore to describe her current work. "it's like trying to stuff a toddler squid into a fancy dress with lots of buttons and laces. I can't find all of it to wedge into the right places, I've lost track of which arms go into which holes, and bits keep popping back out again."

I laughed for so long, good thing I'm at home and people don't look at me funny. No wonder I love her as a writter.

I installed a window into my house today. I am very proud of this feat. Over the winter one of the basement windows broke, I'm not sure how. Kids, ice, etc. So I took the broken window out, brought the frame to Home Depot so I could find the right size. Bought a new one, took it home and put it in. Very butch of me, I think.

I also did laundry, fixed the closet door that was sticking, took off the screen door on the back door since the hinge was broken (I decided I didn't need one back there), bought a new DVD player to replace the one that was in my bedroom and is now dead, went food shopping, and rearranged my closets so that the clothes I will be wareing to the new job are easier to access.

Next I think I will go to the gym. Tonight is a hair cut and dinner with the guys. I need to take days off in the week more often, I get so much done.

Bit 'o spamming today...

I watched Shortbus last night even though I've had it for like a month. It was good, kinda weird, but not unwatchbly so. Interesting characters and story. Not hearly as graphic as I had heard. And I have the unrated version. Anyway, Jay Brannan is in it as a cute gay boy and today I found his music on YouTube. I have also now bought all 5 of his songs on iTunes. I like his voice and music. I think Kiki would too, if he swore less. I'll have to see if she's heard him. Ne's in New York, so I doubt he'll be touring any time soon.
