I got the job at Barnes & Nobel, I have an orientation next week some time, then I will see how long I will work at the watch store before I switch over. Not sure how much I'll be working a week, I'm hoping I can keep Wednesdays open for D&D still.

I'm gonna miss this place. People were generally annoying, but the flexible schedule, awesome boss and time to watch my shows was great. I'm worried I'll have to cut back or stop watching TV shows all together. Not sure when I'll have time.

Full time job continues to be ubber stressful. Still spread too thin and not enough time in the day. Will try and work this weekend some. We also will swing by the gay softball tournament honoring our friend Felica sometime this weekend.

Battleground on Hulu is pretty cool. It's about a political campaign in Wisconsin. They had actual footage of Madison, the city I live in. They had actual local TV news personalities doing fake stories for it. They reference real places around town. It's kinda fun, like we live in an important city that one normally sees on TV.

And it is hilarious! Though you do have to enjoy political shows. I am a West Wing and Political Animals fan, so it is perfect. I think the "new volunteer" is my favorite, though Allison Haslip is great as well. I do feel they spend too much time on the annoying son of the Senator.

And yes, this is how I spent the afternoon at the mall.

It's been a long time since I worked a Sunday at the mall. I normally don't because I have volleyball in the afternoon and the Sunday shift is 7 hours by yourself (it's slow). But we need the money, no one else really could (unless my boss/friend canceled plans) and I really can't afford volleyball at the moment. Which also means I'll have to take a season off or two. Which sucks, I was planning on getting on a team with my cousin Nate and his girl friend Courtney. That'd have been a lot of fun.

Not sure what I'll do today while working. Usually a lot of slow times. The Olympics are on across the hall at the sports/shoe store. And men's volleyball is on. Not the easiest thing to watch across a hallway though. I have the disks for Roswell season 1 and Glee season 1. Plus I have Merlin season 2 saved on Hulu. And I've been meaning to check out the Hulu original Battleground (with Allison Hayslip), which is about a political battle in Wisconsin. Then I have the tablet, so I could draw (have art to do for Gwen) or read.

I do feel bad the dogs will be in their cage 8 hours without a potty break though.

Just wish at this point in my life I didn't have to sacrifice things like that and have to have a second job. It's getting to the point where I'm thinking it actually won't really get better and constantly feeling behind on life will be it.

I finally finished American Horror Story last night, the eps. were going to expire on Hulu, so I wanted to watch it before that happened. All in all, I liked the series. The ending was a bit odd, IMO. I'd have like more resolution, or more explanation (or even a hint) of what the real evil/cause was that they mentioned.

If you can catch it, Zachary Quitno is worth the time by himself as a bitch queen.

I finished season 1 of Teen Wolf from MTV. All in all, I liked it. Not the best effects, and the teen drama got a bit much sometimes. But I liked the plot twists, I liked the mythology, and I liked the characters. Stiles was awesome, one of the best comic relief sidekicks I've seen. I liked learning about Derek and his back story, looking forward to seeing his next season. The rivalry between Scott and Jackson was good too. I even enjoyed the token gay guy. And of course all of the boys were pretty.

Looking forward to next season. Rating: A

I finished Glimpses, the Nightrunner shorts by Lynn Flewelling today. I picked it up with birthday money. It was good. Nice back story insights to the characters. I've been wanting it for a while now, happy I picked it up. And the preview of the next book was exciting, looks like it's less "one of the two boys gets kidnapped," and more like the stories about them I like.

rating: A

I also picked up the Supernatual Anime series. 21 episodes! I've watched the first one. It seems to be mostly rewrites of season 1 and 2 episodes, with some new ones as well. I wish Jensen had voiced Dean for all of it, but it was good. And having Dean doing the leg-guitar pose from Eye of the Tiger as the closing screen was great. I'm looking forward to the rest of them. I'll post another review about that at the end.

We are caught up with American Horror Story. It's pretty good. Not too gory, which I don't like. Zachery Quitino is pretty awesome as a bitchy queen. We've also started Grimm and Once Upon a Time. We'll have to see if we keep with Grimm, need more episodes to tell. Once Upon a Time is engaging.

Paul and I are caught up on Game of Thrones (thanks [livejournal.com profile] graeae). He's hooked, wants to get the books now.

Not much else up. Still healing from the shingles. Rash is pretty much gone, though my face is a bit numb in areas. And there is a throbbing pain in my cheek. I'm thinking I can shave soon, the skin seems healed enough for that at least.

I finished True Blood. I liked season 2 a lot. Now I have to wait until I can get season 3. I hear there is a lot more gay. :) Pity about Godric, I really liked him. And I'm wishing the best for Hoyt.

I'm thinking I need to branch out a bit on the job hunt. I've been applying for jobs in my field (which is quiet broad, basically anything dealing with making images on a computer) for six months now and I've not had even one interview. It'd be one thing if I was interviewing and the job just wasn't a good fit. But apparently I'm not even worth the time to talk to.

So it's time to talk to the job center people and figure out where I can go--what fields are needing people that will let me make ends meet. While school would be nice to go to get the qualifications I think I'm missing, I can't wait until fall. Maybe I'll still be making less than the specified amount and I can go to school and work at whatever job I can get next. But I had over a decade working in a career I loved, that's more than a lot of people can say. Maybe some day I can get back into it again, after the economy gets back to normal.

I'm enjoying season 2 of True Blood (much thanks to [livejournal.com profile] exarian for giving me my fix). I like the expansion of the world. I absolutely adore Hoyt, he's just awesome and I hope he and Jessica keep together (I'm only on episode 5, no spoilers!). I never really found Bill that attractive. Eric is fine, though his blood shot eyes are a bit of a put off. I've only had a short glimpse of Godric, but he's cute. I can't wait to see more of him (I'm hoping he isn't crispy soon). I still love Jason too, he is so freaking cluesless. Ryan K. plays his so well.

I've also started reading the Foundation series by Asimov. I tried when I was lots, lots younger and didn't really get into it. I'm guessing it's an age thing. I've been reading fluff lately. Not necessarily cheesy or bad novels, but books that I've already read and liked. In an attempt to relax my mind. I just haven't wanted to think while reading lately. I think enough as it is these days. Hopefully these books will go smoothly and will be a source of enjoyment.

Like Sandeep said, I'm impressed with the number of celbes they got for this.

Paul and I caught the new BBC show Sherlock this weekend. We both love it and can't wait until the next one next Sunday. It's a modern day Sherlock Holmes and Watson story. Sherlock is awesome, he's insane, snide, uncaring and kinda flamboyant. It's brilliant. And Martin Freeman is great as Watson, as always. I love that Sherlock is hooked on texting.

In other, less fun news, work is overrun with box elder bugs again. Happens every fall, but it's still gross. I have smushed bug stuff all over my floor and desk.

I've purchased all of the Glee music I want that has been released on iTunes so far. It's nice to have a full playlist of that. And I am looking forward to the Glee Rocky Horror show tonight, I think it will be fun.

The next season of Caprica looks awesome.

Also excited about new Glee and Supernatural.

Season finally of Covert Affairs was OK. I think I liked some of the other episodes better. And I don't know why they played the last two back to back. It's not like they had anything to do with each other. I was expecting them to be a 2 part show, with that set up.
