Back in March 2013 I reviewed the Glee Supernatural AU by [livejournal.com profile] rainjoyswriting, and a month ago I finished the sequel to the first novel length piece. The second novel was just as good, but a totally different feel. While "All the Other Ghosts" didn't hide the dark, "Grey" embraced it. There were days where the writing was so strong and good that I couldn't read it if I was in a bad mood. But it dose end happy, which I'm grateful for.

Seriously, if you like Glee and don't mind AU (and I dislike AU, so that should say something), go read it.

Rating: A+

I got to see the first episode of the new season of Dr Who. I bit sad, but I've noticed that is common with this Doctor. Looking forward to the second part, though the plot jumping gives me a bit of a headache.

Wild West Supernatural was funny and cute. Lots of time travel this season. Almost too much.

I hadn't planned to pick up the Warbler's album that came out this week. I had over half of the tracks as it was and didn't really like most of the ones I didn't have. But it was like $2.50 to "complete my album", which is a lot cheeper than buying them all separate. I haven't listened to the new stuff yet. I want to see tonight's episode--and Somewhere Only We Know--before I listen to it. I think I can watch it tomorrow night.

Running on Sunday really caused my back muscles to seize up, I've been sore and had a horrible headache for two days now. I hope it goes away. Need to stretch, do yoga and run more to this won't happen anymore.

Last two days of work have been mind numbingly boring. Stuff that needs to be done, but I've been doing the easier grunt work, since I'm not fully trained on the more challenging and interesting things. Tis part of the process.

Glee was fun (I know, took me forever to watch it). Loved Kathy, she was just awesome. It was great hearing Kurt/Chris sing again. Good duets by the boys. "Yeah" for the kiss, subtle, less fan fair than expected. But done as just another event in the show, which is even better, IMO. Though with New Directions winning, means we won't hear much from Kurt of Blaine again, I'd hazard a guess. Unless Kurt goes back to McKinnely or something. Maybe they both will transfer, one can hope.

In other news, crazy week. With the possible change in my job at the post office and the part-time gig at Laserwords (which looks like I can do and still go to school, as long as I'm done before classes start--which is the plan), it'd have been weird enough. But I interviewed with another techy temp company on Thursday, at almost no notice, because they have a position they want me to interview with at Omnipress as a web application project manager. I should have that phone interview next week. And another application I sent in paid off in an interview next Tuesday with Springs Window Fashions as a web designer. Plus I have another phone interview with Weather Central for a Web Designer next Wednesday, time to be determined. Oh, and Quad called me back, saying they might be hiring even more people than they thought, and they will call me back if that happens. Probably no news on that for a few months, so I might have something else by then, but it's nice to know that they did like me, just not as much as someone else.

When it rains it pours, you know?

Glee.

A bit preachy on the drinking thing. But it's cool that they went there.

I can understand having Blaine do the questioning thing. It's understandable, especially for that "age." Though none of the straight characters are questioning things.

And let Kurt sing something. He's good, Blaine is not better. Blaine is good, but he should not replace Kurt. He should not be backup.

Quad Graphics called in response to an application I sent in. This week is apparently the week for companies to talk to me. Paul thinks it's because the economic indicators are looking good, and I tend to agree. I called back the HR guy, and am now waiting for his return call.

It's been a kinda down day for me. No plans though, probably just watch Glee and some Flash training videos.

My business cards came. I think they look good. I actually painted the background and it kept the watercolor quality, I feel.

I didn't know the Web 2.0 was so simple to understand. Like how I use it all the time. Time to add that buzz word to my resume.

I'm trying to decide what to spend my tax return on. We decided we can each of a little of the money for ourselves, since it's been a stressful few months (like eight of them). I'd like some iTunes money so I can get more music (mostly Glee tracks). I'd also like the extended version of Avatar and Supernatural season 5. And a new hoodie. Choices, choices.

The V-day episode of Glee was fun, though I really wish they'd let Kurt sing again. He's always back up these days. Also, Finn's a bit of a dick.

I interviewed at the Robert Half temp agency today. I've never worked with a temp place before. Hopefully they can find me something. Most of their work is temp-to-hire, so there is promise. It'll probably be web design. They had me take some aptitude tests, I scored 96 % on CSS (the company average is 80%) and a 67% on HTML (the average being 60&). So I feel pretty good on that, just need to brush up on the HTML a bit. They might have some training for me too, so I can still learn flash, javascript, etc. even without using the government's money (if the job they get me pays too much).

Also, it is freezing here at the mall. My fingers are kinda numb.

Due to this night schedule thing and messing up my days I've missed an episode of Supernatural. :( I think I can find it on sidereel.com though. Maybe this weekend I will have time to catch up.

I heard music from Glee on the radio this morning, which makes sense since it is popular, but I don't think I've heard it there before.

I only worked 6 hours at the post office last night. I guess the holiday mail season is over, but I will keep working this week. The schedule has me down for 11.5 hours on Christmas Eve, at least.

I'm trying to decide when I need to give up on trying to find a new job in my field and just get a job. Little Ceaser's is hiring store managers and some friends of Jess and Paul's could put in a good word for me. I can also get a job at Walgreens, Jess promised me. Ten years of work out of my college degree is a decent amount. Maybe after the economy picks up again I can get something I'll enjoy again. Hopefully I won't be too far behind then.

It sounds like my parents are having fun with Laura and Jack. I'm looking forward to seeing them on Skype Christmas morning.

Working at the mall this morning, my manager/friend's grandma died this week and he is at her funeral. Tough time for it, but that's always hard. He's done a lot for me here, least I can do.

My managers at the post office seems to have figured out I can be trusted to think and understand directions. I'm being given more things to do without supervision. I ended up putting in 51 hours my first week (in only 5 days). The work weeks there start on Saturday, so yesterday was the beginning of a new week. Still going well.

We got the tree decorated, Paul did a great job. We even have a few presents under it already.

I was supposed to work at the mall today, but due to the cold and snow the entire mall was closed. So it was just me, Paul and the puppy hanging out today. Had to clear away the snow, of course, but otherwise it was relaxing.

The Christmas episode of Glee was great. Had me tearing up in parts.

Talking to Laura on Skype tomorrow. It will be nice to catch up. Mom and Dad fly out to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. We still need to work out the Skype plans for Christmas day so we can see them. We are booked to visit Paul's family for four days in January too. That will be a nice trip, I hope.

Apparently I'm pretty good at audio editing, at least that is what [livejournal.com profile] fanaus said. Or I did a good job for a beginner. I hope to work on more of that this month, during my "free time."

I'm liking the new hair and suit on Chris Colfer. Still too young, but growing up.
